Present Your Research at Sustainable Reality 2025: Early Career Talks

Alces Flight is pleased to announce the third edition of ‘Sustainable Reality’ (SR25), returning this year on October 7th, 2025, at the Royal Society of Chemistry in London. This year our theme is, “Catalyst for Change,” exploring simple, effective ways to make a big impact in supercomputing.

Sustainable Reality is a day event for anyone exploring or working in supercomputing, AI, or quantum. We’re here to challenge assumptions, spark fresh ideas, and connect rising talent with established voices. Whether it’s energy optimisation, smarter scheduling, or getting more from cloud resources, the focus is simple: real progress, driven by a strong, supportive community.

Introducing Early Career Talks

New for 2025, we’re excited to introduce the Early Career Talks, a session dedicated to showcasing the ideas and research of the next generation of supercomputing professionals.

At Alces, we define early career as individuals who are currently studying or applying supercomputing in their research, or who are within the first five years of working in the field. This includes not only recent graduates and new professionals, but also those transitioning from other fields, or returning to supercomputing after a career break or further study.

Open to students and early-career professionals based in the UK, this opportunity invites participants to present their work to an audience of technical experts, industry leaders, and government stakeholders.

Whether you’re exploring performance tuning, systems-level optimisation, or innovative applications of compute at scale, we’re looking for forward-thinking research that addresses today’s HPC challenges head-on.

Selected speakers will have their travel to SR25 arranged and covered in advance (terms and conditions apply) as part of the award.
