Your Flight Crew speakers: Wil Mayers, Cristin Merritt, and Stu Franks
We have three scheduled speakers for SC22! Each one will be participating in business and community events for Alces. Their specialities are…
Wil Mayers: Wil is taking on HPC Community roles for Early Career (Panelist) and Women in HPC (Digital Co-Chair). He will also be co-presenting in the SC Exhibitor Forum, and will be showcasing product demonstrations at our booth — #4300 — right wing of the Exhibitor Hall.
Cristin Merritt: Cristin is taking on HPC Community roles for Women in HPC (Speaker, Co-Chair) and in SC22 Communications (social media). She will also be co-presenting in the SC Exhibitor Forum, and will be showcasing our HPCWire-nominated client success stories at both our own and partner booths.
Stu Franks: Stu is taking on HPC Community roles for Women in HPC (Digital Co-Chair) and SC22 Communications (media). He is our third speaker at the SC Exhibitor Forum, and will be running demonstrations at both our own and our partner booths.

November 13th:
Women in HPC (WHPC) Workshop. Now in it’s 12th year, the WHPC Workshop is a must-attend for those looking to grow their network learn to better navigate their careers. Our Flight Crew will be supporting those attending via the Digital Experience, as well as presenting on the subject of Diversity Tax. All workshop badge holders are welcome.
November 14th:
Early Career: This program, which invites those within the first five years of their career to apply to join, runs just before the main conference events of the day and features talks, panels, and discussions around navigating your career in HPC. We’ll be joining in on the industry panel — discussing they types of career opportunities those who are entering the field can pursue.
Exhibitor Gala: Get your first look at the brand new Alces Flight booth! Now twice the size of previous years, we’ll be hosting demonstrations, playing games for our coveted ‘moosecot,’ (and some other limited cool swag) and allowing attendees the opportunity to give back to the global community.
November 15th:
Diversity Day: Started by Women in HPC, this event has grown to be the largest informally recognised celebration of all the many people who make up our community. We’ll be handing out limited edition stickers on the day alongside of WHPC swag.
AWS + Alces Flight: We are excited to demonstrate our latest end user and institution-wide products and toolsets for building, managing, and running HPC solutions on public cloud. Happening from 1:00–3:00 PM at AWS Booth #2425.
Demonstrations + Games: Visit us at booth #4300 to see our latest products and play along in a competition for our coveted ‘moosecot.’ We’ll also have an opportunity for attendees to contribute back to their global community.
WHPC Reception: Women in HPC will be hosting their popular Networking Reception from 6–8pm at Cafe Herrera on Lamar — only 5 minutes from the conference centre. Lots of food, drink, and great company to be had — make sure to register to avoid disappointment.
