Working with Us

How We Help.

Alces Flight sits within the Alces Group, guided by a simple operating principle:

Decisions persist beyond platforms, funding cycles, and teams.

We help organisations make those decisions with intent, with an understanding of their long-term impact.

Alces Flight is the front door for conversations. It is a place to explore context and intent before any further engagement. Where appropriate, we may involve other parts of the group, including ConcertIM and Alces Software.

Who We Are.

Alces Flight helps organisations navigate decisions in High-Performance Computing (HPC) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), particularly where those decisions have long-term technical and organisational implications.

We focus on how HPC and AI systems are designed, operated, and sustained over time, helping to surface constraints and trade-offs that persist across environments. Alces Flight is not about high-pressure sales; instead, it is space for clarification and framing, often before a project or solution has been defined.

Two Paths for Working with Us

While conversations often begin with Alces Flight, engagement typically follows one of two paths. Both are guided by a shared aim:

To leave supercomputing systems, and the organisations that rely on them, better than we found them.

ConcertIM

ConcertIM provides subscriptions to managed services and tooling for HPC and AI clusters and their supporting environments.

This path is typically relevant where supercomputing capability is best approached as a service, with a focus on reliability, repeatability, and long-term operational responsibility. It supports organisations that wish to operate production systems without owning every aspect of day-to-day operation.

This path is a good fit when:

  • Operational predictability matters more than customisation

  • Shared responsibility is appropriate

  • Subscription-based services align with organisational requirements

  • Long-term stability is a priority

Alces Software

Alces Software provides consulting and advisory support across architecture, operations, and the evolution of supercomputing systems.

This work is most relevant when requirements are novel, transitional, or not yet clearly defined, such as during major platform changes, the introduction of new capabilities, or broader organisational shifts.

This path is a good fit when:

  • requirements are still forming or changing

  • independent judgement is required

  • trade-offs need to be explored rather than predefined

  • organisational alignment matters as much as technical outcomes

Engagement

Conversations begin with Alces Flight, but they are not routed automatically. We take time to understand intent before involving other parts of the group.

Some organisations work with more than one part of the Alces Group over time. Where this happens, it is a guided choice rather than an assumed one.
