Bletchley Park is the home to change makers, so it comes as no surprise that we’re putting together an agenda that covers a wide range of cutting-edge topics.
Our agenda is coming together and will cover a host of topics. We are pleased to announce that our speakers hail from a wide range of institutions including University of York, University of Cambridge, Northern Ireland High Performance Computing (NI-HPC), Red Hat, Borealis, Amazon Web Services (AWS), The Numerical Algorithms Group (NAG), and Women in HPC (WHPC).

Bletchley Park holds a special place in history as the site where the Government Code and Cypher School (GC&CS) deciphered military codes and ciphers during World War Two, contributing significantly to the Allied victory. This legacy of HPC is exemplified by the innovative methods and machines developed by Bletchley Park, such as the Turing/Welchman Bombe and Colossus, the world’s first electronic computer.
As a special agreement with the Bletchley Park team we are excited to announce that part of our agenda will be dedicated to intracting with an Enigma machine with one of their own experts. This hands-on demonstration will allow attendees to learn more about ciphers and engage with a working machine in real time.
We all know that attending events like this is an opportunity to connect with members of the HPC and AI communities. This event will prove no different, as we are opening this free event up to anyone working, studying, or just interested in our field.
This event will include plenty of networking breaks and activities to allow you a chance to meet new people and catch-up with old friends.
We are also pleased to be hosting a session from our Move the Needle project with Women in HPC as part of this event.
Sustainable Reality 2024 is taking place on September 25th at the Fellowship Auditorium at Bletchley Park. Our event will begin at 10:00 AM and end at approximately 4:30 PM (with one hour dedicated to the Enigma Machine and an extended lunch with site tour).
