This year’s conference navigates the supercomputing skyway of productivity.
The Flight Crew is once again packing their bags to participate in the much anticipated end-of-year HPC conference, Computing Insight UK (CIUK) this December 6, 7, and 8, 2023. With an agenda featuring two and a half days of user events, sessions, and activities, this year’s theme, ‘Productive Supercomputing,’ will showcase the diverse approaches employed by the UK and EMEA HPC communities in solving large-scale problems
The team at Alces will be exhibiting our latest products and services on the conference floor, participating in two major events, and continuing with the ‘Our Money, Your Choice’ campaign. Here’s our activities at-a-glance:
Lustre User Group:
We are excited to be the newest sponsor for the 2023 Lustre User Group (aka “LUG”). Come join us on December 6th from 2:00 PM to explore the latest developments in this open-source, parallel filesystem.
On the Exhibition Floor:
Explore our latest product, Concertim, and learn more about our commitment to making supercomputing more accessible and sustainable. We will also be continuing with the ‘Our Money, Your Choice‘ campaign, where you can earn Flight Tokens which turn into donations for global charities. And, special for CIUK, we will be adding Shelter to our pool of institutions. Shelter works exclusively on housing rights for those who live in the UK, providing millions of people the services and information they need for safe housing.
The CIUK Cluster Challenge
We’ll be on-site with this year’s teams on December 7, 2023, for the afternoon challenge. While we can’t reveal too much, expect puzzles, escape rooms, and more – but nothing too daunting, we promise! Curious about the Alces Flight student challenge experience? See how the students did in this year’s online challenge.
Women in HPC (WHPC) – 2nd Annual CIUK Breakfast
Alces Flight will once again be a part of the WHPC Breakfast – taking place December 8th from 8:30 AM. This year we’ll be leading the Lyceum, a rotating panel of audience members – and we are honoured to have this year’s CIUK keynote speaker, Melyssa Fratkin, as part of our session! We will also be launching a new initiative at this event off the back of this year’s theme, “Productivity Supercomputing.” You don’t have to be a member of WHPC to take part – all attendees are welcome to join in.
CIUK will be hosted at Manchester Central in Manchester, UK. Attendee registration gives you access to all programs and sessions. Be sure to register early to take advantage of the best prices. We look forward to seeing you there!
